Golfer's elbow (epicondylitis humeri ulnaris)
Causes, symptoms and treatment options
Golfer's elbow (epicondylitis humeri ulnaris)

Golfer's elbow, medically known as epicondylitis humeri ulnaris, is a painful tendon irritation on the inside of the elbow. Although the name comes from golf, it also affects many people who regularly perform gripping, lifting or twisting movements - for example when doing manual work, housework or office work.
Typical symptoms are pain on the inside of the elbow, which increases with strain and can radiate into the forearm or hand. Often there is also a loss of strength when gripping or lifting. The cause is usually chronic overloading of the flexor muscles of the forearm, which leads to small injuries at the tendon insertions.
In most cases, treatment is conservative: similar to tennis elbow.
